Web-Offset
The use of state of the art technologies allows our Customers to ACHIEVE EFFICIENCY IN THE PRODUCTION PROCESS.

How?
- Printing up to 200 lines per inch for printing levels, as high as those of the sheetfed presses
- Overall speed of up to 90,000 copies per hour.
- Autoplate
- Competitive prices starting from 7,000 copies
- Coherence and consistency in the colours along the whole run, credit to the use of the spectrophotometers.
- Production with automatic changes of 21 different types of fold, in order to offer particular formats and paginations, from 4 to 64 pages, with maximum use of paper and without any waste.

Also our latest web-offset, the Goss M600 A24, with a format that is not commonly used in Europe, which, in the case of Tabloids with a 289 mm base, in magazines with an height of 275 mm, and pocket formats with a 135 mm base, makes it possible to Save between 5 and 8 percent of the paper cost compared with the main sizes currently in use in the European Publishing industry.
Because, as we see it, innovation also implies the act of stimulating new markets, giving the Customers new opportunities to choose, being an active part of their competitiveness, and looking beyond the already existing options.

Also in sheetfed offset printing we choose the best presses offered by worldwide technology, set up in order to satisfy current and future requests from our Customers.

As of 2006, we will have a new, 6-colour Offset press, which will make it possible to print covers, commercial documents and labels with special colours: Silver, gold, fluorescent colours, and glossy or matt varnish finishes.
This new technology will contribute to increasing our presence on the label market and will supply our customers with new options.

The results of this strategy are already noticeable: the turnover of the label sector has increased by 35.4% compared to 2004.

Flexography
Thanks to the agreement for the printing of the newspaper "La Repubblica", a new Cerutti Maxinova S4 flexo rotary press from the "L'Espresso Publishing Group" has been installed at our premises: one of the first installations of its kind in Italy, capable of producing up to 96 colour tabloid pages. This system, manufactured by Cerutti, one of the leading internationally manufacturers of this technology, makes stronger our position in the newspaper sector.

This experience emphasised the strategic importance of the geographic location of our two plants, the latest of which has a height configuration of 15 meters, with the possibility of extending it further, for the printing of newspapers. As a matter of fact, Salerno is 236 km far from Rome, 228 km far from Bari, 250 km far from Cosenza, and 230 km far from Taranto.
Furthermore, we have established a specific internal staff, a "new initiatives" area, dedicated to the complete planning of all the activities and the realisation of new plants for printing newspapers.

QUALITY BEYOND PRINTING
Our finishing equipment allows us to keep a constant quality standard, covering the entire productive process, from the white paper to the finished and packed product. Our constant attention to the reduction in cost per finished product unit has led us to integrate a branch that generally does not belong to the concept of the "printer": the finishing branch. This integration, inspired by the logical concept of efficiency, allows us to guarantee a homogenous qualitative level in all production phases, and allows our customers to have further options in terms of customizing their products.

Our current technical equipment allows us an overall capacity, in terms of stitched product output, of 25,000 c/h, with the possibility of gluing cards at the beginning of a signature.

The cellophane line allows us to make cellophane wrappings in heat-shrinkable material, PVC and coextruded polypropylene.
A fully automated Polar cutting system has recently been added to the 2 existing cutting lines. Thanks to this system it is possible to cut, band and bundle any type of label, in a completely automated manner.

The completely automatic Lombardi die cutting machine, series LH, model 23, has a production capability of 900,000 labels/hour for shaped labels. Starting from January 2006, the new Muller Martini Corona 22 units binding line will be added to the existing line, reaching an overall capacity of 20,000 bound copies per hour. Also this system, manufactured by one of the leading internationally manufacturers, will be the first installation of its kind in Italy, in terms of completeness and accessories.
The planned technological evolutions in this department will soon make it possible for us to offer our Customers further options for bound products:
- 8 pages gatefold cover, flush with the internal page size, thus achieving an optical effect and a high level of quality.
- insertion of reversed signature, as for example posters.
- gluing of a card onto a signature
- attaching a card to a signature using an electrostatic charge.
- magazines and volumes with the use of particularly resistant polyurethane glue.
